I'll Fix It

Haley had a bit of an early birthday surprise on Friday. One of my coworkers has a 7-year-old daughter, and he and his family are in the midst of Spring Cleaning. He loaded up his truck with boxes for Goodwill, but allowed me to take a look at the stuff he was getting rid of before dropping it off. As a result, Haley got a TON of new stuff this weekend. Among the treasures, a big Elmo doll, several books, several My Little Pony dolls, a Barbie car, cowgirl boots, and an ENTIRE kitchen trash bag of Barbie and her clothes. One of the more unusual items I took was a toy toolbox filled with toy versions of a screwdriver, pliers, drill, etc. Unusual in that its not a "traditional" little girl toy. Haley loves it! She carries the screwdriver everywhere and uses it to fix things. She points to her toy car - "Dada, wheel broken. I fix it!" And she proceeds to pretend to use the screwdriver on the wheel. The cat is less enthusiastic, as she has tried to "fix" him on several occasions.
