We All Scream For Ice Cream

I really should be updating this blog every day. That is how often Haley amazes me. Sure, its usually not anything earth-shattering, but some of the simple advances she makes truly impress me. For example, we've all seen the cute portrayls of a child that has dropped their ice cream cone and is upset about it. Not Haley. In a relatively short amount of time, she has MASTERED the fine art of eating an ice cream cone. We only had to show her once how to lick the sides of the ice cream to keep it from dripping, and she picked up on it immediately. We went to the ice cream shop after dinner last night and she didn't spill a drop.

She really impressed Bunny and Grumpa (Cindy and Tom) when they were over at the house last time by counting to ten on her fingers and toes, and by singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" from start to finish. We're ready for that 7th Inning Stretch!

One of my favorite new things is singing "Old McDonald Had A Farm" with her. When we get to the line "and on this farm he had some..." I let her pick the animal. She usually starts off with standard farm animals, (cows, pigs, chickens), but then she'll throw me a curve ball by picking something like polar bears. Or worse, she'll pick something that doesn't really make any noise. Whats a dad to do when he has to invent a noise for a jellyfish?

As an aside, Bunny and Grumpa are all moved into their new house. Haley is thrilled to have them so close, and is enjoying exploring all the nuances of their new place. She is particularly fond of a decorative nook in the wall near the fireplace that she crawled into to play with her dolls.
