Songbird
Haley has discovered the joy of singing. Though she is still too shy too perform on command, so you'll have to trust me on this one, she has quite a repertoire of songs:
the alphabet song
Ring Around the Rosie
Itsy Bitsy Spider
Happy Birthday
Clean-Up Song (this might be obscure)
Rockabye Baby
I'm a Little Teapot
So this is love (from Cinderella)
A few chuckles: most of the above songs are recognizable to most anyone, with the lyrics pretty well practiced (though of course there are a few cute substitutions). The last one, however, is only recognizable to Mommy. I must say that this particular song, sung when Cinderella is dancing with the Prince at the ball, is a little hard on the ears! She sings it in the highest pitch imaginable, and repeats only the title lyrics over and over and over. So far, my daughter is not winning American Idol anytime soon. Though she may qualify for the amusing try-outs.
The best, though, is when she makes up songs of her own. We hear these pretty much over the monitor when she is playing alone in her room. She sings about putting on shoes, reading books, a sunny day, looking in the mirror - anything that catches her attention at the moment. I hope one day she'll perform for all of you!
