Haley And Zoe's Web

Hello and welcome to Haley and Zoe's Web! For the uninitiated, this is a weblog (more commonly known as a "blog"), which is an online journal that is available for anyone to read. Haley and Zoe are growing up so fast that we wanted a way for all of you to keep up with their day-to-day advances. So pull up a chair and brace yourself for the cuteness to follow.

Look Out Below!!!!

I'm not a religious man by any stretch of the imagination, but there are elements of the grand design of the universe that lead me to believe that some higher power had a hand in its creation. For example, it seems that toddlers in general have regenerative properties that border on the super human. It seems that no matter what happens, all that is needed to make everything better is a kiss on the area of injury, and in some extreme cases, a juice box. But the part of all this that begs the question of a "grand designer" is that toddlers truly NEED this ability at this time in their lives. Seriously. I've seen guys in the ring take less of a beating.

In just the past few days, Haley has done all of the following:
1) Dropped a glass bottle on her toe.
2) Tripped getting out of her sandbox.
3) Tripped into a full-blown header onto the concrete.
4) Walloped by a bigger kid because she was loitering at the bottom of the slide.
5) Knocked over by an overenthusiastic Labrador.
In each and every instant, the incident was met with tears and a request to "kiss the owie", followed by a return to what she was doing as if nothing happened. Even in the accidents that involved some kind of injury, the injury healed amazingly fast. Her faceplant onto the concrete mentioned above resulted in a large scratch-covered bump on her forehead yesterday. This morning, it was almost completely gone! And this is all in addition to the usual multitude of bruises and scrapes that Nicole and I have no idea where she gets.

This is one tough little girl!
