Happiness is... Achievement

Well, someone is in a good mood today! And rightfully so. After a week or so of nervous apprehension, Haley has successfully spent her first night in her new Big Girl room and new bed. She is very pleased with herself. Originally, we planned to introduce the new room slowly, with the occasional short nap during the day. For the past few days, this has been met with excitement at first ("Big Girl room! Big Girl bed!"), followed by some nervous clinging ("Mommy, you lie down with me on Big Girl bed?"), and finally ended back in the nursurey in her crib ("Want other bed! Want other bed!"). Then last night, while Nicole was putting her to bed in her crib, Haley requested her Big Girl room. After a few songs and some supportive cuddling, she fell asleep in her new bed! Hooray!!!

She slept VERY soundly and woke up in a GREAT mood! I even got a "Bye, Dad. I love you," on my way out the door this morning. (Nicole got the first real "I love you" earlier in the week. Today is the first time she has said it to me.)

No idea if this is going to continue, or if this is going to be as hit-and-miss as her potty training, but its a great start.
