Haley And Zoe's Web

Hello and welcome to Haley and Zoe's Web! For the uninitiated, this is a weblog (more commonly known as a "blog"), which is an online journal that is available for anyone to read. Haley and Zoe are growing up so fast that we wanted a way for all of you to keep up with their day-to-day advances. So pull up a chair and brace yourself for the cuteness to follow.

Happy 4th!

Whooo...Another busy weekend. Bunny and Grumpa (Cindy and Tom) are in town for the next week to visit. They've been having a great time with their granddaughter. I'm taking advantage of their presence to try to finally get some work done in the yard.

We all went to a few BBQs yesterday to celebrate the 4th of July. The first one was at my friend Mike Tamburrino's place. Mike has two new basset hound pups that he just got this week. Haley had a good time playing with dogs her size instead of the 70lbs of slobbering affection that is our Lab. (And now Nicole wants another puppy. Yikes!) Next, it was off to Joe and Heather's for dinner and fireworks. Haley did pretty well considering that we kept her up WAAAAY past her bedtime. She learned the word "fireworks" and was very excited by them. During the big show put on by the city, she blurted out "Look at that, Dad!" which drew chuckles from the crowd at her exuberance.

This week was also the week that we had our house painted. An expensive pain in the butt, I'm glad its over with. The house looks great and we are very pleased with Nicole's choice of color. (She's agonized for months over this.) I'll try to post a picture in an upcoming entry.

We also took delivery of Haley's new furniture for her Big Girl Room. We had a heck of a time finding furniture that was attractive, well-built, and affordable. Every store we went to had a very small selection of kids furniture, and what was there was glued together particle board and cheap pine wood. We were afraid we'd have to open our wallets and cough up big for the expensive Pottery Barn Kids stuff. Luckily, Nicole's sharp eyes spied a kids-only furniture store while we were out running errands. The store was perfect! Wall-to-wall kids furniture, solidly built, and it was all on sale! We managed to get her a bed AND a matching dresser for the same amount we thought we'd have to spend on just the bed alone. She loves the new bed, but we haven't had her sleep in it yet. The plan is to start her off with a few naps in her new room first. I'll be posting pictures of her new furniture shortly as well.
