As part of learning to read and write in kindergarten, Haley is sometimes allowed to write in "Kid Write". This is where she is allowed to write words the way she thinks they are spelled, based on the way they sound. Here is her Halloween composition. It reads

My favorite part of Halloween is going Trick Or Treating.

She also wanted me to point out the pumpkin she colored and that her name was written in "Halloween colors".
