Haley And Zoe's Web

Hello and welcome to Haley and Zoe's Web! For the uninitiated, this is a weblog (more commonly known as a "blog"), which is an online journal that is available for anyone to read. Haley and Zoe are growing up so fast that we wanted a way for all of you to keep up with their day-to-day advances. So pull up a chair and brace yourself for the cuteness to follow.

Better late than never...

I was just sorting through pictures, and realized how many cool things happened over the holidays that I didn't share in our Blog. So, better late than never!

One of Haley's favorite Christmas activities was seeing the members of the Boulder Ballet at a special Nutcracker Tea. We had a 3-course tea service punctuated by abbreviated performances of the Nutcracker. And the best part was meeting them all and even dancing with them! She had a blast. It was especially fun since she'd been practicing the dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy in her ballet class - so meeting the "real" fairy was the pinnacle of the experience.

Haley also enjoyed a horseback riding lesson while we chose our Christmas tree - her instructor was only about 9 years old, but she put Haley through the paces and Haley proved she had a good "seat" on a horse. We may have to investigate pony camp when it warms up!

We've certainly had our share of snow this season - it was fun at first, being all bundled up, playing in the snow, and cuddling up with some hot cocoa, but after 8 weeks of weekly snow storms, we're all about done. Here's a picture of the first snowstorm - back when we thought it was picture-worthy!

Haley had a winter concert with her school in January - she was a little nervous to be up in front of a whole crowd of people, so unfortunately, not many photos came out. She wanted me up front near the stage for confidence, so most of my pictures are from behind her. The 3-year- olds sang 5 songs, so very cute, but not very intelligible.

And lastly, Haley had her 2nd ballet recital - she was adorable! She still dances to the beat of her own drummer, but this time, she had a follower! One little girl did anything Haley did, even if it wasn't what they were supposed to be doing. It was hysterical! But overall, Haley is doing actual ballet steps - the teacher is to be commended!

And, of course, Christmas morning was fun this year, with 2 girls to shower with gifts. They even had almost-matching dresses, which I swore I'd never do, but it was pretty cute!

I think that does it! Next posts will hopefully be more timely!
