Haley Jade - Stuntwoman

The scariest sound this Halloween is not "Boo", or "Creak", or even the sound of eggs hitting the side of your house. The scariest sound is "Thumpathumpathumpathumpathump".

Let me explain. Thumpathumpathumpathumpathump is the sound a two-year-old makes when she falls down a flight of stairs.

Calm down. She's fine.

But she did scare the heck out of us yesterday. As I've previously mentioned, Haley has become fairly independent as of late. If Nicole and I are busy with other things, she asks if she can go outside or downstairs and play by herself. Such was the case yesterday where Nicole and I were still eating our dinner and Haley wanted to go play downstairs by herself. So I go downstairs to turn on the lights for her and Haley follows me. She hasn't had any problems going up or down the stairs for many months now, but for whatever reason last night - Thumpathumpathumpathumpathump!

We both rushed over to help her. I picked her up and carried her over to the couch. She was crying, but for some reason, I instantly knew that she was ok. Her cry wasn't the bellowing scream I would expect if she had hurt herself seriously. It was more of a HolycrapIjustfelldownthestairs kind of cry. I think she was more freaked out by the fall than anything else. When I gave her a bath later in the evening, I couldn't even find any bruises.

Between her cries she tried to tell us what happened. "I fall downna stairs!" Yeah... we noticed. Another indicator she was fine -
"Haley! Are You ok? Are you alright? Can Mommy get you anything? Ice? A band-aid?"
"Waaaaaah... sniff... I wanna cookie."

Yeah... she's alright. I've said it before - one tough kid.
