Busy, Busy, Busy...
Hi all. Sorry for the lack of posts. As some of you may have heard, I need to travel to Malaysia to (hopefully) solve some problems we're having in manufacturing. The resulting chaos and stress of preparing for the trip has taken its toll on House Maddocks. But Haley hasn't slowed down a bit! Here are a few quick updates:
Kitty Needs A Tissue
Sometimes Haley cracks us up and we're not even in the same room with her. This morning her nose was a little runny and she asked for a tissue, so I gave her one. Then Nicole and I were in the bathroom getting ready when we hear from the other room, "Kitty, you want blow your nose?" Laughing, we both looked into the bedroom to see Haley trying unsuccessfully to wipe the cat's nose.
What Happened To 4 and 5?
Haley can count to 10!....sorta. Taking advantage of one of our first TRUE Spring days, we went to the Zoo yesterday. Haley was a joy to watch with her new skills. She said hello and goodbye to all of the animals she knew. "Hi, Peacock!" "Bye-bye, Monkey." And there were a few instances where she tried to count the animals. "One, two, ele[phants]." Much to my surprise, during one of these counts, she kept going! "One, two, three, six, seven, eight, nine, ten!" Okay... so she missed a few. Daddy is still VERY impressed!
Little Con Artist
"Balloon time!"
"No, Haley, we're not going to make a balloon right now. We're eating breakfast."
"Whed balloon! Whed ballon!"
"White balloon?"
"No... Whed ballon!"
"??? Ohhh....RED balloon! You want a RED ballon!"
"...Ok, Dada." (Impish grin. She got me.)
Too Hot, Baby
If its not apparent from some of the previous blogs, Haley is at the age where she mimics almost everything we say and do. One of my personal favorites is during mealtimes. If something is even remotely too hot, Haley will blow on it before eating it, the same way Nicole and I do. The other day I put her into the bath. The water was a little warmer than usual, but not by much. Haley started saying, "Hot water... Hot water...", then she tried to blow on her bathwater to cool it down. It must have worked because she seemed fine with the temperature after just a few puffs.
