Haley And Zoe's Web

Hello and welcome to Haley and Zoe's Web! For the uninitiated, this is a weblog (more commonly known as a "blog"), which is an online journal that is available for anyone to read. Haley and Zoe are growing up so fast that we wanted a way for all of you to keep up with their day-to-day advances. So pull up a chair and brace yourself for the cuteness to follow.

Big Ol' Blog

Sorry for the lack of updates to the blog. Our internet is down at the house. Here's the latest Haley news....

Easter
Had a great Easter weekend. Went to a friend's brunch in the morning and had Easter dinner with the Szotts. Haley, Cas, and Logan had a great time hunting for eggs. We gave Haley a trial run on Saturday with just 4 eggs. Once she figured out they had candy and stickers in them, she really got into the hunt. (Jelly beans are apparently the highlight of the holiday.) The end result was a very full basket on Sunday afternoon. Hopefully we'll have pictures up soon.

First Song
Haley is now singing her first song. Cookie Monster's "C Is For Cookie". She sings the line "Cookie, cookie, cookie, starts with C", but her version goes "Cookie, cookie, cookie.....C!" With ALOT of emphasis on that last "C!"

Music
As evidenced by the above anecdote, she is starting to really enjoy music. She has a CD clock-radio in her room that she now insists on having on when she goes to sleep. She points to it and asks, "Music?" (It sounds more like "Mooosik", but you get the picture.) Big fan of Wolfgang. We'll start with the classical before sneaking Led Zepplin's Houses Of The Holy in there.

Hokey Pokey
In addition to teaching her that "Cookie starts with C", apparently Cookie Monster has also taught her the Hokey Pokey. Haley got an automated Cookie Monster toy from her Uncle Scott and Aunt Pamela that sings and does the Hokey Pokey when you press his hand. While playing with it today, Haley began to dance too! So Nicole and I joined in. She loves it!

New Words
Whew! Still with us? Good. Here is another explosion of new words Haley has used in the past few days. Remember, these are ONLY the words she uses correctly by herself. We are not even including the many words she mimics us saying. For example, the word "funny" is usually used to point out something that makes her laugh, so she'll say "Funny doggie". Here's the list: funny, breeze, sneeze, candy, dolphin, dry, barking, tissues, drawing, booger, crayon, cook (when she's playing in her kitchen), throw, catch, chip (tortilla chips), sit, George (Curious George to be exact, this is usually followed by the word "monkey").

Why do children always learn the word "booger"? Must hear it around the house(?) ;-)
Haley, you are developing quite a vocabulary.

Might I suggest Amadeus Motzart for her nighttime listening? Maybe B2K?

Can't wait to see the Easter pics.
So who's going to be the first one to introduce her to chocolate? GiGi?
