Day 3 - Magic Kingdom 2
After dragging the kids through two full days of rides and attractions as well as a tumultuous travel day, changing their sleeping habits and shortening nap times, and pumping them full of sugary treats, we were somehow surprised how poorly Thursday went.
The day started off pretty well. We returned to the Magic Kingdom and decided to do something we didn't have time for on the first day - get some mouse-ears for the girls. Haley immediately found a pink "Princess" set with sparkly silver ears, a tiara, and a lacy train. Zoe tried on and refused every one we showed her in her size. It wasn't until she was being ushered out of the store that she realized her obstinance was going to leave her hat-less, and she picked out a simple set of pink ears with Minnie Mouse on them.
Shortly after, we met up with Uncle Scott, Aunt Pam, Tyler, and Ryan. The kids had a great time going on rides together and we were able to do Its A Small World, Pooh's Adventure, and the Philharmagic 3D show before we attempted to take the girls back to the hotel for a nap. That's when things went awry. Both girls refused to nap and as a result, made some poor behavior "choices" as the day went on. I got to be that parent scolding his kid as she throws a tantrum in the middle of the "Happiest Place On Earth".
We returned to the park for dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern and a few more rides including The Haunted Mansion, Tiki Room, and Aladdin's Flying Carpets. We also did a few more runs on Splash Mountain. We stayed to enjoy the fireworks show and Spectromagic parade (basically the Electric Light Parade from the 70's) with Tyler and Ryan. This made for a late night on a day with no nap. To make matters worse, the line to get on the bus at the end of the night was loooooong. We waited a long time to get on the bus, and when we finally did, we were forced to stand for the whole trip back to the resort.
End of Day 3... Finally!
